I cannot believe that I’m just now getting around to sharing this wedding of my absolute DREAMS. Emily and Shane said “I do” at the Houston Event Venue surrounded by all of their closest friends and family. Most all of the decor was hand painted by the bride (UHM, PERFECTION), and the wood alter above their sweetheart table now has their initials carved in it (the couple who loaned it to them told me that they are going to have everyone who gets married under it put their initials along the bottom. so so sweet).
The highlights:
THE MUSIC: yes please to Ben Rector, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, and Jason Mraz. every song that came on almost brought me to tears because so many of them hold a special place in my heart. also- pretty sure everyone was pretty exhausted of me saying “THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG!” by the end of the night.
THE PEOPLE: guys, Emily rolled up to her own wedding like Santa clause. she had boxes and boxes of gifts to hand out to family, friends, and even vendors (and YES I had a gift too and it was freaking amazing). Emily and Shane know how to love people super well and it was beyond evident in every exchange they shared with those around them. they honor and love their people SO well.
THE LOVE: all you need to do is scroll up and look at the way Shane looks at Emily. their love is authentic and gentle and super fun all at the same time.
HONEY BUTTER CHICKEN BISCUITS: whataburger literally delivered bags of honey butter chicken biscuits as wedding favors and it made for the very best snack on the drive home. thanks for saving me a trip through a sonic drive thru, y’all.
Okay, so by now you know, I just really like these people a lot and I most definitely have a friend crush on them.
