BIOGRAPHY OF A PHOTOGRAPHER

It’s highly likely I’ve got a renovation project and a batch of chocolate chip cookies going right this minute, while I pass out the twenty-seventh snack of the day to our three boys. Finding and making beauty—in my home, oven, your session, on Facebook Marketplace—is some of the stuff I enjoy most in the world. It’s how I often experience God in this messy, chaotic place and I’m still a little shocked every time I get to be part of it.

I bought my first big girl camera with high school graduation money and was the designated photographer of my friend group through college, ultimately adding a photography minor. The start of my business came right on schedule with the birth of our oldest son. I’m happy to report they’re growing up together quite well! What began as full-time wedding photography has shifted to find a home in family and lifestyle portraits, still incorporating the artistic, detailed, and stolen-moment elements I loved most about weddings.

I revel in a good Instagram poet and given the opportunity, will gush all about my recent favorite dystopian book or show. I’m a big champion of homemade costumes, loud laughs, and nights on the back porch with my family. It’s the casually profound—more than the curated—that stands out to me and is why I love capturing your family as you play, laugh, and enjoy one another.
